Assignment 2-1: What is Immersive Education? for review - Shane Hewson

This screenshot is showing the point in the video where a school couldn't take its students to the zoo due to a lack of funds. The school instead let the students take a virtual tour of a zoo. The students could then learn as if they were at an actual zoo.  The students had fish avatars and were able to explore the ocean.

This shows an interactive human DNA piece. For my other immersive education class last year I actually came across a virtual game similar to this. It was a interactive module of the brain. It was amazing how detailed the interactive experience was since such things are very complicated.
I was really fascinated at how interactive technology enables objects to become physical. This user is able to check out a immersive figure as if it was really there. It's amazing how far technology has come. A little before this shot a young boy was actually able to experience how Earth's gravity might interact with the virtual spaceship he has in his hands.

This slide caught my eye because I wasn't aware how many different parts of the earth participated in immersive education. Parts of Europe and also several South American countries are experiencing the immersive education courses.

This is an assignment from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc
