It's amazing how something so old as the Bent’s Old Fort in Colorado can be transformed into something modern using virtual reality. It allows people to get an in depth view of the fort even if they are not in Colorado. Mine Craft is being used to to build the fort. Quite amazing that Stanford University's Architectural Design Program is participating as well.
I think it's a good idea to use Mine Craft to build the fort because it is a user friendly interface. Many people are familiar with mine craft so the learning curve to take the virtual tour won't be too difficult. It's nice to see people so invested in their local history. Also I would like to go the that restaurant that looks like the fort. Seems like a fun place to eat.
This is an assignment from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Collaborative Computing. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc
