Class 4 Assignment 3
SMITHSONIAN
City of Oulu, Finland
University of South Australia
The video about the Smithsonian was very cool because it reminded me of a Tomb Raider game. It was very interesting to see how immersive smithsonian was. The avatar was actually climbing the side of a mountain. The Finland video was interesting because it showed how technology is being integrated into today's curriculum. Children of today will grow up with an extensive understanding of technology. The university of South Australia video was interesting because it showed how the Australian Learning and Teaching Council is working towards making 3D learning platforms more accessible.

Web Rocket and Virtual World Framework each had their own
positive and negative qualities. Web Rocket was much easier to explore. You
could double click on a location in Web Rocket and it would automatically move
your avatar there. Also the avatar moved much more quickly in Web Rocket than
it did in Virtual World Framework. The Virtual World Framework avatar seemed to
be a little too rigid for my liking. It also moved very slowly when I controlled
it.
Web
Rocket was much quicker loading than Virtual World Framework was. There was
some times where I needed to reload the page because the world seemed to freeze
up. Virtual World Framework did have better graphics however. The landscapes
were beautiful and the attention to detail was amazing. If I had to choose
between the two I would probably go with Virtual World Framework because of how
amazing the graphics were.

I'd have to say there is a clear difference between the three photo types. PNG seems to have the clearest quality while JPEG is a close second. GIF on the other is way behind quality wise. It is very blurry and not as clean looking as the other images. When I exported the photo to a JPEG format it added a black border to the photo. PNG is my top choice
